Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor
Housed just inside the library entrance is a Visitors Center featuring interesting historical displays and artifacts of the White Haven region. Many of the original architectural features of the building remain intact so that guests can visualize the building’s former scope and appearance. Informational brochures and maps are also available regarding Eckley Miner’s Village, Lehigh Valley Gorge State Park, Nescopeck State Park and Hickory Run State Park, all located within a 5 mile radius of White Haven. The D&L Trail (Lehigh Gorge and Black Diamond Section) is also in close proximity to the Engine House. Biking and hiking enthusiasts can now travel from Jim Thorpe, through White Haven and north to Mountain Top. Feel free to view the Visitors Center during the Libraries hours of operation.
